  • Lawrence  Anders, 80
    Lawrence  Anders, 80, died September 7, 2013 at his home in Dodge City after battling a lengthy illness.. He was born on December 14, 1932 at Dodge City, KS the son of  L.L.(Mug)  and Elsie (Merk) Anders .
    A 1950 graduate of Dodge City High School, Lawrence was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. After serving his country he returned to Dodge City and earned his Associate Degree from Dodge City Community College in 1957.  He married Pat Straight on August 6, 1954 in Dodge City, she survives. He was a farmer and later the owner and operator of several businesses, including Second Hand Rose, The Piccadilly Shop and A&S Auto Sales.
    He was a member of the Howard Gotschall  V.F.W. Post #1714  of Dodge City.
    Survivors include his wife Pat of the home, two sisters Wanda Culver, Veleeta and husband Loren Doll all of Dodge City; five daughters, Debby and husband Joe Liddle of Columbus, Ohio; Kim and husband David Ysebaert of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Erin and husband Michael Robbins of Dodge City; Chelsea and Pen Anders of Columbus, Ohio;Becky and husband Mark Rehm of Liberal; two sons, Larry and wife Lisa of Vista, California and David and wife Robyn of Littleton, Colorado. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother in law Elden Culver, and numerous aunts and uncles.
    Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Wednesday September 11, 2013 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Swaim Funeral Home.
