The United Way Leaders of Dodge City: Voices of Today and Tomorrow are hosting a “Learn at Lunch Hour” at noon on Friday, Sept. 20, at G&G Car and Truck Supercenters at 402 2nd Ave. The event is sponsored by G&G Car and Truck Supercenters.
Along with food and door prizes, the event will include a talk from Grant Neuhold titled “Cutting Edge Digital Media Solutions for Business & Education.” Neuhold is director and producer for the Kiowa County Media Center.
According to Neuhold, the talk will center around the media center, its services and its objectives as a nonprofit. Neuhold says he hopes people come away with a better understanding of how digital media can be incorporated in areas like graphic design, video production and live streaming.
“I just feel like it’s very important for people to be aware that the media center does exist and what we can offer that can help benefit hopefully them or their organization,” Neuhold said.
Located in Greensburg, Kan., the Kiowa County Media Center features the latest in 21st century media technology. It includes a radio studio, television studio and HDTV mobile production trailer.
United Way Leaders is a nationwide effort of The United Way. Its goal is to provide a way for people aged 20 to 40’s to get involved, give something back to the community and advance the common good with other professionals. The Dodge City chapter was founded in 2010.
“This is a very dynamic group that’s very active in the community and always willing to step up and do what they can,” Gayle Ausmus, executive director for United Way of Dodge City, said.
“United Way leaders are the future of our community,” she added. “This group has answered the call to step up, to share ideas and to serve.”
