FOWLER - On July 13, 2013, Tim Milford was helping a neighbor when he fell fifteen feet off a platform. The fall resulted in several broken ribs and spinal injury, leading to a diagnosis of paralysis from the chest down. Milford’s journey to recovery will be a long one and now others can help thanks to a benefit car show being held in his name.
The benefit car show will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Fowler City Park in Fowler. Admission is $25 and all profits will go to the Milford family for medical expenses.
“Tim has always helped everybody in Fowler and I think it’s just right for Fowler and all of his friends to give back to his family and come support the car show,” Milford’s neighbor Nikki Cunningham said.
The car show will feature music from Milford’s son P.J. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided for lunch. At 2 p.m. a motor blow will take place. A grill guard from Bullseye Truck Parts will be auctioned off.
Numerous benefits events other than the car show have already been held for Milford.
“It makes me feel like I have a family of 500 in the community,” Milford said of the benefit.
Milford goes to physical therapy three times a week, working on mobility to be able to go about daily tasks more independently. He has already returned to work in IT for Bucklin Tractor and Implement.
