  • The United Wireless Arena hosted the Dodge City Conquistadors basketball team versus the Allen Red Devils Men's team. This game kept you on the edge of your seat as you watch these two teams battle on the court. From the start two giants, #32 Dalton Haist of Dodge and # 33 Raheem Tyner of Allen were leading the way in this battle. For most of the game you watched these two bump, block and score points. Dodge was on the loosing end for most of the first half, but where able to keep it to one point at half-time. This was possible by #15 Delbon Rencher who had 9 points in the first half, #3 Ameer Jackson who had 7 points, and #1 George Brock who also had 7 points. But nothing could prepare you for what you where about to witness in the second half. Dodge came out with determination and a force that was to be reckoned with, as they hit the court. Within the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half Dodge tied the score and was keeping the Allen Red Devils on their toes. Again the battle between #32 Dalton Haist of Dodge and # 33 Raheem Tyner got heated, this time both teams trading fouls, this leading up to the last three minutes of the game. The Conquistadors put the pressure on and forced some turnovers by the Red Devils. With the score standing at 63 to 59 Allen, Dodge got the ball and #15 Delvon Rencher shot a three pointer to bring Dodge within one point of tying the game. That three pointer sent the crowd into a tizzy. At this point Dodge put more pressure on Allen and forced a turn over as Allen was trying to get the ball in. A time out was called and everyone in the stands was screaming, on the edge of their seat, or standing up with anticipation of what would happen next. Dodge came out of the time out, got the ball in and #23 Larry Beckett shot for two making the basket and putting the Conquistadors into the lead. Dodge lead the game 64 to 63, it was hold on tight for the last 35 seconds as Allen did everything possible to score. But with no success, Dodge who had been down most of the game, walked away with the win and the crowd loved it!
