  • Gonzalez, Christmas card contest winner

  • The Dodge City Community College Foundation announced on Monday the winner of its first annual Christmas card design contest. The winner is Stephanie Gonzalez, a sophomore from Dodge City.

    Gonzalez is majoring in art and aspires to be a professional studio artist. Her work incorporates elements of Neo-Surrealism and Neo-Pop.

  • The Dodge City Community College Foundation announced on Monday the winner of its first annual Christmas card design contest. The winner is Stephanie Gonzalez, a sophomore from Dodge City. Gonzalez is majoring in art and aspires to be a professional studio artist. Her work incorporates elements of Neo-Surrealism and Neo-Pop. “We’re very proud of our art students at DCCC, and anytime we have the opportunity to show the community their talent we jump at the chance,” Jennifer Nolan, assistant professor of art, said in a news release. “Stephanie is a very talented student and has a bright future ahead. She’s a great example of the talented students we have at DCCC.” As part of her winnings Gonzalez will receive $100 and 50 personalized Christmas cards. “The Foundation is extremely happy to be sending out a very unique student-designed Christmas card,” Roger Proffitt, DCCC Foundation director, said in a news release. A Final Friday Art Reception & Award Ceremony will take place on Friday, Dec. 6 at the DCCC Little Theater. The student art show will be open until Wednesday, Dec. 11. The DCCC Christmas card design contest is open to any student in any major. Next year, cash prizes will be awarded to the top three designs. The top design will be used for the DCCC Foundation Christmas card.
