  • Goldbugs continue dominance in early season action

  • The Fowler Goldbugs improved to 3-0 on the season with a 61-44 victory over the Ingalls Bulldogs in Thursday night action of the Black and Gold Tournament. Two days after outscoring Minneola by 40 in the first half, the Goldbugs outscored the Bulldogs 40-16 to remain unbeaten on the season. Taylin Bird scored 20 points to lead Fowler in scoring, while Tate Shumard added 15 and Ty Clark 12 in the victory. The Goldbugs hit 11 three-pointers in the game. LaMontae Heady scored 10 points to lead Ingalls (0-3). Rebecca Wyatt scored 17 of her team-high 21 points in the second half to lead Ingalls, while Kaisha Batman scored nine of her 11 in the first half. Nikki Friesen scored 22 to lead Fowler (2-1) and Hannah Heinz added 11 in the loss.
