  • Bluejays avenge loss to Buffaloes

  • The Cimarron Bluejays avenged their first loss of the season Tuesday night with a 60-58 road victory over the Meade Buffaloes in Hi-Plains League action. The Bluejays lost to the Buffaloes in the final of the Bluejay Invitational four days earlier, but Cimarron was able to take the lead in the third quarter and able to record the win. Caleb Fischer scored 23 points to lead Cimarron (4-1), Christian Fischer added 13 and Ty Clark 12 in the Bluejays' victory. Jett Little led Meade (4-1) in scoring with 17, while Morgan Davis added 13 and Aaron Gleason 12 in the setback. Peter Martens led South Gray with 16 points, including three 3-pointers on the night. Carson Skidmore added 14, Jake Peters 12 and Tate Skinner 10 for the Rebels in the victory. Kaden Stein led Spearville with 23 points and Nathan Stein added 22 for the Lancers (2-3). Kiowa County (2-3) outscored the Timberwolves 34-15 in the second half after trailing by 13 at intermission. Landon Davis led the Mavericks with 16 points, while Koy Alexander scored 17 points for the Timberwolves (2-3). Ingalls gave up only four points in the second half after leading 27-15 by halftime. Edgar Flores added 10 for the Bulldogs (2-3). Colton Downey led Bucklin (0-5) with eight points. No other player scored more than three in the loss. GIRLS Cimarron 71, Meade 66 MEADE — The Cimarron Lady Bluejays withstood an upset bid by the Meade Lady Buffaloes to record a second victory between the two teams in four days. Cimarron beat Meade by 21 in Saturday's championship game of the Bluejay Invitational, but the Lady Buffaloes trailed by three after the first quarter and didn't back down on their home court. Morgan Ediger scored 23 points to lead Cimarron in scoring. Ediger had 38 in the first meeting between the two teams. Ashtynn Burns added 19, Korina Bailon 14 and Kari Blattner 12 as the Lady Bluejays remained unbeaten after five games this season. Bailey Olvera scored 30 points to lead Meade (3-2) and Tarah Wiens added 14 in the loss.
