  • Be prepared for free dental clinic

  • Here's what you need to know before arriving at the Kansas Mission of Mercy free dental clinic this Friday and Saturday.
    • email print
  • Patients planning to attend the Kansas Mission of Mercy free dental clinic on Friday, Feb. 28, or Saturday, March 1, at the Western State Bank Expo Center in Dodge City should use the Dodge City Raceway Park entrance off of Highway 56.
Doors to the clinic will open each day at 5:30 a.m.
Patients who are on prescribed medications should continue to take them as prescribed and should bring them along so a dose isn’t missed.
Patients do not need to bring dental records or proof of income; however, they will need to fill out a brief health history. Bring a list of allergies, prescriptions, and other relevant information.
After a medical screening, the patient will be examined by a dentist and the patient’s greatest need will be treated. For example, if a patient needs extractions and fillings, the greatest need (possibly the extractions) will be treated.  The patient does have the option to come back the next day to get the fillings but they must wait in line again like everyone else — no line priority is given.
    No dentures will be provided.
Services are offered as "first come, first served" and all patients must be able to wait in line as there will be no appointments. Approximately 1,000 patients are allowed in starting at 5:30 a.m. so it may be mid-afternoon before a patient is treated.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost.
The service is available to children and adults. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
Dodge City is excited to host the annual Kansas Mission of Mercy free dental clinic this year and hope that those in western Kansas who could benefit from the service will plan to attend.
