  • Suspect in bomb threat arrested in Ohio

  • The Dodge City Police Department filed charges against a former Ford County resident on March 14, 2014 as a result of a bomb threat investigation.
     The individual was detained in Warrensvile, Ohio. 
     The investigation initiated when officers with the Dodge City Police Department responded to two bomb threats received at two different Dodge City establishments on Tuesday, March 12, 2014, . 
     Employees and customers at Kentucky Fried Chicken located on 1210 W. Wyatt Earp Blvd. were evacuated at approximately 7:15 p.m., as a result of a bomb threat and traffic was restricted on Wyatt Earp. No explosive devise was found.
     Law enforcement responded to a second bomb threat at approximately 7:30 p.m. at Presto's Convenience store at 2615 E. Trail. At the conclusion of the initial response, the caller made a second threatening call to the business. Again,  no explosive devise was found.
     According to Dodge City Deputy Chief Drew Francis, officers from the Warrensville Heights Police Department located and arrested the individual on the Ford County arrest warrant at 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2014.
     The defendant is being charged with one count, aggravated criminal threat and two counts, criminal threat.
