Rob has entertained us in the past with his theories about the dastardly Abraham Lincoln, who gratuitously plunged the nation into civil war even though slavery was dying a natural death.  But it turns out that those of us who thought he was uniquely crazy on the subject were wrong: He’s not unique.

On a recent episode of The Daily Show (I saw the rerun last night), Andrew Napolitano made the same case against Lincoln.  Jon Stewart made it even more entertaining, of course. Not only was he as unconvinced by Napolitano as I’ve been by Rob, Stewart put his guest on a game show (“The Weakest Lincoln”) featuring three historians Rob may (or may not) even consider legitimate academics, who poke holes in Napolitano’s theory.
