Law to battle Wild for the third time in the playoffs

The Dodge City Law closed out the regular season and home campaign in style by beating the Kansas Koyotes 62-26 Saturday night at United Wireless Arena.

The Law outscored the Koyotes 32-2 in the first half with the only points scored by Kansas was on a safety after Dodge City's Marquis George fumbled an interception that was recovered in the end zone by the home team.

Dodge City's defense had four sacks, four pass deflections and two interceptions in the first half with the Koyotes' offense not being able to put points on the board despite getting the ball inside the Dodge City 10-yard line four times before intermission.

Law running back Dominique Carson scored five touchdowns for the Law (8-4) — four in the first half — to lead the team on offense. Quarterback Joshua Floyd ran for two scores and threw for two more in his final game this season at UWA.

The Law will face the Wichita Wild in a CPIFL playoff game at Wichita's Hartman Arena. Wichita beat Salina 63-41 in the other final regular season game of the 2014 season. Salina will travel to Sioux City for the other playoff semifinal.

A full story will run in Tuesday's edition of the Dodge City Daily Globe.
