Smoky Hills Public Television names new board member

     Smoky Hills Public Television has named Taylor Summers of Ulysses to its board of directors.
    Lawrence Holden, the station's general manager and chief executive officer, made the announcement.
    Summers is director of marketing, sales and media for Pioneer Communications, an independent telecommunications service provider headquartered in Ulysses and serving western Kansas.
    Joining Pioneer in 1996, today Summers manages the business development objectives for the organization's portfolio of wire line and wireless voice and data services and directs programming decisions and affiliate relations for the company's multichannel video operations. He also oversees the video production and advertising services of Pioneer's award-winning media services division.
