Servi-Tech, Inc. announced Thursday the appointment of Orvin Bontrager, director of education and training, as president-elect of the National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultants.

As president-elect, Bontrager will help organize the society’s upcoming national convention this January in Orlando, Fla.  The NAICC is a national organization that represents the United States and some international independent crop, research, and quality assurance consultants.

“I think it’s important, as a crop consultant, to have a national organization represent the independent crop consultant and researcher profession,” Bontrager said of the NAICC.

Bontrager has been a member of NAICC since 1995, and an employee of Servi-Tech for the past 31 years. He is currently based in Aurora, Neb.

“I enjoy the challenge of conducting education duties for Servi-Tech as well as working with a number of second generation farmers on their crop production acres,” he said.

Servi-Tech was organized in 1975 by three farmer-owned cooperatives to provide technical service for agricultural producers in southwest Kansas. Today, Servi-Tech provides consulting to approximately 1,700 farmers across seven states and 140 counties.
