Western Plains Medical Complex announced the hiring of Bryan Coffey as its controller Thursday. He will oversee the hospital’s payroll and accounts payable departments.
Coffey graduated from Kansas State University before entering public life in public accounting and healthcare finance and systems strategy. He has worked at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. and the Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia where he was the hospital’s chief financial officer.
“Bryan brings the hospital a solid background that will enable us to improve our focus on enhancing cost efficiencies at Western Plains,” said CEO John Walker in a statement.
“My family and I are delighted to call Southwest Kansas home,” said Coffey in a press release.
He and his wife Robin have four children and are involved in local athletics and church activities.
