Western Plains Medical Complex has announced that Karen Foster, RN has joined the hospital’s staff as director of surgical services. She will oversee the hospital’s inpatient and outpatient surgery departments and staff.
Foster comes to Dodge City with extensive experience in surgical and nursing administration. She received her nursing degree at Northwest Missouri Community College in St. Joseph, Mo. Her surgical nursing experience began at Heartland Health Center in St. Joseph, Mo. Most recently she served as surgical director at a hospital in Rawlins, Wyo. Her husband and two teenaged sons will join her in Dodge City this spring at the end of the school term.
“We are very pleased to have Karen as a part of our management team,” said Trish Feilmeier, Western Plains CNO. “Her leadership experience and clinical background will be a great asset to the hospital and the community.”
