DCCC men's golf finishes season 19th at nationals

   The Dodge City Community College Conquistador men’s golf team finished the 2009 NJCAA National Championship Tournament Friday in 19th place after shooting 317 as a team in the final round of the stroke play event at Huntsville, Ala.’s Robert Trent Jones Trail Course.
    Truls Hilde paced the Conqs with a 78 in the final round. Anders Engell finished the tournament with a team-low 310 individually over the four rounds. Engell shot 79 in the final round.
    New Mexico JC earned a share of the national title by shooting a 289 as a team on the final day. They share the 2009 title with McLennan (Texas) CC after shooting 1,185 as a team over the four-round event.
    Kansas’ top team at the championships was the Hutchinson CC Blue Dragons, who finished in eighth with a 57-over par 1,209.
