A former Dodge City Middle School teacher is challenging the school board's decision not to renew his contract for the upcoming school year.
Gerald Scovel notified the USD 443 Board of Education earlier this month that he had appealed the board's decision to Ford County District Court, according to court records. A hearing date has apparently not been set yet.
