Two DCCC students selected as student ambassadors Samantha Askew and Corbin Taylor have been selected to serve as student Ambassadors at Dodge City Community College for the 2008-2009 school year.
Samantha Askew, a 2007 graduate from Dodge City High School has been selected to serve as a Student Ambassador for Dodge City Community College for the 2008-2009 school year. In high school, she participated in basketball, band, SADD, STUCO, KAYS and the National Honor Society. She was also selected as a role model for her senior class and received the K-State Leadership award. Samantha in majoring in Secondary Education. Samantha is the daughter of John and Sherry Askew.
Corbin Taylor, a graduate from Valley High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been selected to serve as a Student Ambassador for Dodge City Community College for the 2008-2009 school year. In high school, he participated in the National Honor Society, ETS/Trio and was a volunteer for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He was a member of the Gifted Students Program and received the National Achievement for High School Scholars Award. Corbin is planning to major in Science. He is the son of Rocky and Madonna Taylor.
A Dodge City Community College Student Ambassador is a prestigious position held by only a few outstanding students. Student Ambassadors tour campus guests and act as student liaisons with the public. Student Ambassadors must possess a unique, outgoing personality and meet high academic standards.
