Taylor Carrithers and Lisa Gall, both of Dodge City, were awarded Academic and Finnup scholarships from Washburn University. These students were among the 146 high school seniors recognized for their achievements at a banquet recently at the Salina (Kan.) Country Club.
Academic Scholarships require a 23 on the ACT test, a 3.25 grade point average and full-time enrollment. The scholarships are renewable.
The Finnup Foundation Trust was established by Frederick and Isabel M. Finnup. Awards from the trust provide scholarships to students who graduate with a grade point average of at least a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale from high schools in Clark, Comanche, Finney, Ford, Grant, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Haskell, Hodgeman, Kearny, Lane, Meade, Morton, Ness, Scott, Seward, Stanton, Stevens and Wichita counties.
