The Fowler school district is getting closer to the completion of its multi-purpose building.
Architect Michael McCoy will bring a model of the domed structure, which  Fowler voters approved in a bond vote last year, to town on June 22.
McCoy will discuss the building with the USD 225 school board that morning and give a presentation to the public at 7 p.m. in the grade school auditorium. The architect will answer questions, point out design details and provide an approximate construction schedule.
The big dome will be unique in this region.
"We think our building will be such an asset, not only to Fowler, but as a resource for surrounding communities," said USD Superintendent Sam Seybold. "There are no other domed buildings like it in southwestern Kansas, and it will change the skyline of our community in a unique way. And of course, it will meet a great need for our students and our town."
Seybold invited all interested members of the public to come to McCoy's Monday night presentation.
"Mr. McCoy be able to give a lot of info about the building's interior, too," Seybold said. "People will be able to see where the band room is, where the locker rooms are, etc."
