Byron and Dorothy Bergkamp of St. Joe Ost and Leroy and Donna Schawe of Dodge City proudly announce the engagement of their children, Angela Rose Bergkamp to Jeffrey John Schawe.
Angela is the granddaughter of Berenice Bergkamp and the late Albin Bergkamp of St. Joe Ost, and Arleen and Ernest Sponsel of Wichita. Jeffrey is the grandson of the late Alma and Albert Schawe of Windthorst, and of the late Alma and Bob Bogner of Dodge City.
The future bride is a 2005 graduate of Andale High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in counseling at Newman University and is in her first year of the social work master’s program at Newman University. She is currently employed by Community in Schools and works at Curtis Middle School in Wichita.
The future groom is a 2003 graduate of Dodge City High School. He earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice at Dodge City Community College and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Wichita State University. He is a state trooper for the Kansas Highway Patrol, assigned to Sedgwick County.
An Aug. 14 wedding is planned at St Joe’s Catholic Church in St. Joe Ost.
