Live music disappeared from the local bar scene several years ago, with occasional exceptions. In the early 1980s you could count on Cowtown or the Dodge House to consistently have a western dance band or an oldies band just about every Friday evening.
If you've been using the lack of live music at the local clubs as an excuse to just stay home, you're about to lose that excuse — at least for a couple of months.
Central Station kicks off a series of live music Fridays today with Dale Riley and the Last Train South Band.
Riley was born in Dallas and started playing music at the age of 8 with his dad, Billy Riley Sr., owner of the Southern Express Band.
