Angela Bergkamp of Ost and Jeffrey Schawe of Dodge City were united in marriage Aug. 14, 2010, at St. Joseph Parish, Ost, with Father Wesley Schawe presiding.
Jeffrey is the son of Leroy and Donna Schawe of Dodge City. Angela is the daughter of Byron and Dorothy Bergkamp of Ost.
The maid of honor was Emelia Ramirez (friend of the couple), and the bridesmaid was Melissa Bergkamp (sister of the bride).
The best man was Kelby Schawe (brother of the groom), and the groomsman was Randy Schawe (brother of the groom).
Ushers were Brian Schawe (brother of the groom), Galen Schawe (brother of the groom), Byron Bergkamp (brother of the bride), and Alexander Bergkamp (brother of the bride). The flower girls were Isabel Kautz, Anne Schawe, and Nora Schawe (all nieces of the groom), and the ring bear was Patrick Maderack (nephew of the bride).
The bride is a graduate of Andale High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in counseling at Newman University and is in her final year of the social work master’s program at Newman University.
The groom is a graduate of Dodge City High School and earned an associates degree in criminal justice at Dodge City Community College and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Wichita State University. He is a state trooper for the Kansas Highway Patrol assigned to Sedgwick County.
After a honeymoon in Alaska, the couple now resides in Wichita.
