Boothill Iris Club
    The Boothill Iris Club met on April 28 at the Learning Center.  President John Sims called the meeting to order.  Minutes of the February meeting were reviewed and the treasurer's report given.
    Motion was made and seconded to meet at 6:30 p.m. for the August and October meetings, and 7 p.m. for the February and April meetings.  Motion carried with no opposition.
    The main business covered was the club's upcoming Iris Show to be held on Saturday, May 17 at a vacant store in the east wing of Village Square Mall.  The theme for the show is "Iris! Celebrate in '08!"
    Show chairman, Bob Preston, has secured a judge for individual specimen irises entered in the show: Carol Loker will contact a judge for the arrangements using irises.  Show promotion was to be handled by Harrision Barns, Jerry Shelly, Ken Hower, Rae Tweedy, Jean Schartz and Alice Sinclair.
    Irises may be entered for the show between 8 p.m. and 11:30 a.m. on May 17.  Non-members as well as member are welcome to enter irises for the show.  Judging of the irises will take place between 11:45 a.m. and 1:15 a.m.  The show will be open to the public, with no charge, between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
    Show booklets, entry sheets and entry cards were distributed.  Carol shared information on grooming of irises for judging and tips for arrangements using irises.
    Following the business meeting, refreshments provided by Darrell and Rae Tweedy were enjoyed.
