A few things to enjoy in Meade

 ATV Rodeo  October 11, 2008 at the Meade Co. Fairgrounds at 7 p.m.  Age groups from 9 & under  to adults 18 & over may register at 5:30 p.m.  Cash prizes will be given to the top three.  Riders must supply their own ATV & helmets are required.  The entry fee is $20/single or $30 for both 4x2 & 4x4 (Barrel races, flags, poles, and obstacle course)  Both male and females are welcome to register.  For more info, call Brian Kroth 620-629-7416, Jeff Howard (620-338-6468 or Trevin Bachman 620-873-5244. There will also be free drawings for gifts certificates and getaway trips for the spectators and riders. Hopefully more will enter or come out to see the Rodeo!

On November 11th (Veteran's Day) the Meade Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual banquet with guest speaker, Mark Johnson (former Green Beret), who is a very motivating and interesting man with a lot of stories and motivation.  This will be held at the Forst Center in Meade. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner following at 7 p.m.  We are looking to have many veterans from the surrounding towns and  would welcome Dodge City. Our Citizen of the Year will also be announced.  Also, on the Chamber's Annual Banquet, we will be offering Veterans a $5 dinner that evening. They will need to reserve a ticket (which will be at the door upon arrival).  All tickets must be purchased by Oct. 31st by calling 620-873-2979.  Porkloin wrapped in bacon, twice baked potato, salad, veg., roll & dessert is our menu.

Last but not least, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Meade celebrates "Christmas in the Park." The lights are lit for the first time and Santa Claus arrives at 6:15 p.m. with goodies for the kids!
