Scott - LaPish

    John and Geene Scott, Omaha, Neb., and Shannon and Teri Spurgeon, Wichita, announce the engagement of their daughter, Shauna Scott, to James R. LaPish, son of Paulette Frerichs, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and Bill LaPish, Captain Cook, Hawaii. 
    The bride’s grandmothers are Mary Spurgeon, Gate Okla., and Marilyn Coxwell, Manhattan,and her (great-aunt) Deloras Baker, Wichita (formerly of Ashland).
    The couple was engaged on Nov. 16, 2007, and are planning a June 7 wedding in Newton.
    The bride graduated from Butler County Community College, El Dorado, Bethel College, Newton, and Wichita State University, Wichita. Shauna is currently employed at Trails West, Dodge City.
    The groom graduated from Reedley College, Reedley, Calif., and Bethel College, Newton. He is currently employed by Conant Construction, Dodge City.
