DODGE CITY —

Out of 10,000 exhibits, Aja Ardery of Sublette High School has been named one of the top 100 students for their artwork to be on display in New York City at Carnegie Hall.  She, some of her family and her art teacher attended the ceremony in New York during the first week of June.
When Aja isn't drawing, she is involved in school activities.  She has been a cheerleader since middle school and has participated in sports. She is the National Honor Society secretary/treasurer, KAYS Stucco rep, choir secretary, head cheerleader and has helped with many school and community projects.  Another of Aja's activities is singing. She recently went to state for singing, taking a solo and participating in two other ensembles.  All three received a one rating.
Aja has received the Artist of the Year Award her freshman and sophomore years at Sublette High School and this year, she was named Outstanding Artist of the Year. She has also received many Gold Key Awards and Silver Key Awards on most of the art she has entered in the Scholastic Art Contest.
Aja is working at the Stockade Travel Plaza, a family-owned business, and is a part-time lifeguard at the Sublette City Pool.
Aja is the daughter of Colleen Ardery of Sublette and Rick Ardery of Copeland.  She will be a senior at Sublette High School and is undecided at the present time about where she will attend college.
