Burkhart to celebrate 80th

 Harold Burkhart will celebrate his 80th birthday on Saturday, June 27, 2009.  He was born June 27, 1929 in rural Hodgeman County.  In 1944 he moved to Kinsley where he has resided all his life, working in and owner of Burkhart Appliance and then Burkhart Meat Products.  He is a Korean War Veteran having served in 1951-52.
    On August 3, 1953 he married Fran Burkhart.  She died Nov. 2, 2005.
    His children are Shelly Kuhn, Kinsley; Sherry Burkhart, Hutchinson; Debbie McAvoy, Offerle; Melanie Wheeler, Kinsley; and the late Stephanie Burkhart Carothers.  He has 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Cards of congratulations may be sent to him at 724 E. 3rd St., Kinsley, KS 67547.
