Police have identified the woman involved in a Tuesday afternoon standoff on Avenue H as 20-year-old Dodge City resident Shenonda Amaro.
Police Lt. Traci Rankin, who interviewed Amaro after she and 21-year-old Alonzo Cruz surrendered to police, said that Amaro was a friend of Cruz.
Neither Cruz nor Amaro owned or rented the house at 1300 Avenue H, Rankin said, but they were acquainted with the tenants. The residents were not home at the time of the standoff.
Cruz, who was a possible victim in a March 21 shooting on Avenue A, was wanted for questioning in the shooting as well as a warrant for a probation violation.
Police negotiated with Cruz for around an hour and a half Tuesday until he gave himself up at 5:30 p.m.
Rankin said Amaro does not currently face any charges in relation to the standoff.
