DODGE CITY —

Welcome to Dodge City, new immigrants! From 1 to 4 p.m. July 12, Dodge City Public Library will host an “American Dreams Fair” for you. Throughout the afternoon, several organizations will have information available on such topics as: “Where can I learn English?” “What health services are available and where are they located?” “What educational services are available for myself and for my children?” and “How do I get a Social Security card?” Individuals representing organizations providing information on these and other similar topics will be available to answer your questions. Translators for Spanish and English will be available to assist.
At 1:30 p.m., Martha Mendoza from Sen. Pat Roberts’ office will explain the services provided by the senator’s office. And at 3, a panel will answer questions from the audience about immigration, citizenship and local elections.
All immigrants needing answers to questions or who are interested in finding out about the services available in Dodge City are welcome to attend. There is no admission charge. The fair will take place in the lower level of the library.
This program is provided through “The American Dream Starts @ Your Library” grant made possible by the American Library Association and funded by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. For more information, contact Michael or Vicky at the library at 225-0248.
