Starting today, a contractor will be working on Fairway Drive and Marsha Lane north of the intersections of Sixth Avenue and U.S. Highway 50, and 14th Avenue and U.S. 50.
North- and southbound traffic on Sixth Avenue between U.S. 50 and Frontview Road will be narrowed to one lane in each direction. The left turn lane for southbound traffic will be closed to southbound traffic.
Northbound traffic on 14th Avenue will be narrowed to one lane between U.S. 50 and Frontview.
Work at the U.S. 50 intersections is scheduled to take two to three days. Work on Fairway Drive and Marsha Lane should be completed by this evening.
APAC-Kansas would like to thank the residents of those streets for their cooperation during the patching process and apologizes for the inconvenience.
Residents are advised to keep children and pets away from the work area to avoid possible injury from the 300-degree asphalt, which may cause severe burns and damage to tires until cool.
Please be aware of the construction zones and obey all signs and barricades. With your cooperation, the contractor should move through the project quickly.
If you have any questions or special circumstances, please feel free to contact the city engineering department at 225-8106 or APAC-Kansas at 227-6908.
