Enjoy a tour of this unique art center, located in historic downtown Dodge City. Originally an Andrew Carnegie library, the building's history will fascinate those who enter the "door on the corner." This restored building now features a variety of art exhibits. The building is on the National Register of Historic Sites and boasts an unusual classical architectural design.
The center is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. It is closed Sunday and Monday. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
The Carnegie has a busy schedule of special events coming up for the summer:
• May 30: Final Friday at Five, featuring guitarist Richard Falcon Jr.
• June 7-27: Fresh Produce Art Collective opening reception at 7 p.m. June 7.
• June 27: Final Friday at Five. Meet the artists of the Fresh Produce Art Collective.
• July 25: Final Friday at Five featuring Earl Kuhn, a cowboy artist from Medicine Lodge. Kuhn's artwork will be on exhibit through Dodge City Days.
• Aug. 2: ”Walk and Talk” with cowboy artist Earl Kuhn from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
