PRATT —
Investigators are not certain what caused a vehicle accident and grass fire near Pratt.
But Pratt County Undersheriff Rick Sriver says animal tracks at the accident site point to a loose llama as the possible culprit.
The driver, 58-year-old Douglas Kilgariff, of Pratt, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup struck something on Saturday. The pickup came to a stop in tall grass, which caught fire and burned the truck. No one was injured.
Kilgariff and a passenger were found at a nearby residence.
The llama has not been found, although one had been seen in the area in recent weeks. It appears from evidence at the crash site that the animal was injured.
