Dodge City —

Dodge City police are investigating a reported rape that allegedly occurred early Thursday morning in the 1500 block of Central Avenue.
A 26-year-old Dodge City woman reported at 4:26 a.m. that a 36-year-old male acquaintance had forced her to have sex with him, said Police Chief John Ball. The man was arrested without incident in the 1000 block of Second Avenue shortly after the alleged rape.
The Globe does not publish either the names of victims of sexual assault or information that might identify them.
Ball declined to identify the suspect because formal charges had not been filed yet.
The police department has submitted the case to the Ford County Attorney's Office and requested that prosecutors charge the suspect with rape, Ball said.
