DODGE CITY —

Dodge City police are continuing their investigation into a shooting early Saturday morning which injured a man and a woman.
The male victim was apparently shot in his left leg, while the woman was wounded in her right forearm, according to early reports. They were both taken to Western Plains Medical Complex for treatment.
The police department declined to release the victims' names or ages Sunday because the investigation was continuing.
At about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Ford County Communications received several 911 calls reporting gunfire in the 1100 block of 4th Avenue, according to the news release. Law enforcement officers responded to a house with a basement apartment at 1110 Fourth Ave. and found the two victims, who lived upstairs.
Police found numerous shell casings from a high-powered rifle when they canvassed the area, and several bullet holes were discovered on the residence.
Officers later found a vehicle, which a witness described as being involved in the shooting, abandoned in a shed on Kettle Way.
Police Lt. Traci Rankin said that police are still digging through interviews and neighbors' accounts of the shooting, and they do not have any solid suspects yet.
"No arrests have been made, but we've had some good leads develop," she said.
Rankin said that authorities have not identified a motive for the shooting, but they think it may be gang-related.
The police department and the Ford County Sheriff's Office are working together on investigating the shooting, and they are asking anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 228-STOP (7867).
