Dodge City —

Memorial Day is a sacred day of remembrance for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while in service to our country.  The Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Dodge will conduct its annual Memorial Day service at 11 a.m. Monday.
This year's service will feature a KC-135 Tanker flyover, as well as a balloon launch in memory of Kansas soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving in Iraq and Afghanistan while defending our freedom. The program will also include special music, bagpipes, Roll Call, a three-volley salute, "Taps" and the placing of wreaths in memory of the Tomb of the Unknowns. Our special guest speaker this year is LTC (Ret.) Anthony Lyons from Dodge City. This event is free and open to the public. Let us never forget.
