Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Director’s Guild of the Depot Theater brings Nana’s Naughty Knickers to the stage.
Beginning on Friday, the play described as a romantic comedy farce will show each Friday and Saturday night until Feb. 18 and Sunday, Feb. 5 and Sunday, Feb. 12 for matinee shows.
"Make this your Valentine’s must for a fun, sexy comedy," said Gayla Kirmer of the Depot Theater Company. "The show requires a lot of back stage hand to run all of the tricks."
A synopsis of the play says "Bridget and her grandmother are about to become roommates. However, what Bridget saw as a unique opportunity to stay with hr favorite Nana in New York for the summer quickly turns into an experience she’ll never forget. It seems her sweet grandmother is running an illegal boutique from her apartment, selling handmade naughty knickers to every senior citizen in the five-borough area."
The play, which has two acts, is set in a present day New York City apartment. Angie Hatton plays Sylvia Charles, Sharon Smith is Vera Walters, Kara Hagar takes on Bridget Charles, Lee Griffith plays Tom O’Grady, Ron Albrecht is Mr. Gil Schmidt, Rachel Turner is Heather, Connie Pennick is Clair, Keith Tallent is Voice and second UPS Man and Angel Romero plays UPS man.
Niki Thomas is stage manager for the show; Miguel Coca is assistant stage manager; Barnaby Rincon, Alejandro Coca, Pennick and Tallent are stage hands; Melissa Bosley-Stammer runs the light board; Romero runs the sound board; Don Steele, Val Hinton and Jerry Roetzer did set build; Steele also handled set design; Tallent did sound design; Dee Dee Miller is in charge of costumes; and Cindy Tomson did set prop designs.
Tickets for the show are $40 for show only and $55 for dinner and show on Friday and Saturday night. For more information, contact the Depot Theater Company at 620-225-1001.
