El Dorado started things off in the first, getting two runs across on starter Jack Dellinger. Dodge City responded in the bottom of the first with a lead-off walk leading to a two-run home run by designated hitter Matt Campos to tie it up.

With one on and two-outs in the bottom of the eighth, the A's went to work starting with a triple from catcher Logan Brown to bring home one run followed by a single from short stop Bennett Hostetler to bring Brown home. Campos would add to his two RBIs from the first inning with a double that scored Hostetler and a single from right fielder Wyatt Champlain scored Campos to bring their scoring assault to a close, as the A's took a 8-5 lead.
