KANSAS CITY – Arthur Lee Johnson Jr., 48, passed away June 15, 2017 at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

He was born July 22, 1968 in Oakland, California, the son of Arthur Lee, Sr. and Helen Johnson. The family later moved to Dodge City where Arthur attended school and graduated from Dodge City Senior High in 1987.  He was very active in sports during school, playing football, baseball, wrestling and track.  After graduating from high school he went on to attend some college.  Arthur worked in construction for a few years, and later as a welder for Crustbuster Speed King.

He married Brenda Stein and together had 2 sons, Demetrius and Darius Johnson.

Survivors include: fiancé, Jamie Fitzpatrick; sons, Demetrius and Darius Johnson, Baldwin, Kansas; step-daughter, Breanna Stein, Baldwin, Kansas; sister, Gayelynne Johnson, Garden City; niece, Tisha Martinez, Dodge City; nephews, Dante Johnson, Adrian Martinez, Isaac Martinez and Cordell Martinez all of Dodge City.

He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents and uncles.

Celebration of life will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City with Fr. Wesley Schawe officiating. There is be no public visitation, cremation has taken place.  Following the memorial service there will be a luncheon.
