More than 100 floats and entrants will work their way down Dodge City this Saturday for the 57th annual Dodge City Days Western Parade.

"The route has not changed from last year," Duane Nietling with Dodge City AMBUCS said.

Dodge City AMBUCS is leading the event with the help of several sponsors and local businesses.

The route will begin at the Dodge City Civic Center at Central Avenue and Morgan Street and will run south on Central Avenue to Comanche Street.

From Comanche Street, the parade will go towards 2nd Avenue and turn south on 2nd Avenue and will run down to Gunsmoke Street.

When the parade reaches Gunsmoke Street it will turn west to 3rd Avenue and then turn south on 3rd Avenue reaching Wyatt Earp Boulevard to get back on 2nd Avenue to head south.

The parade will go down south 2nd Avenue to Market Street where it will turn west on Market Street and head to its final destination at the Dodge City Roundup Arena.

Bill Miller will be this year's Parade Marshal.

Miller was a founding member of the Boot Hill Museum coinciding with this year's Dodge City Days theme of Raise a Ruckus, celebrating 70 years of the museum and the 60 years of the Boot Hill Museum Variety Show.

"We will have close to 100 to 120 floats this year and it will be great to see," Nietling said.
