A new assisted living facility in Dodge City has now opened.

Reflection Living, located at 2800 6th Ave., opened last week and has   residents already on the way.

"We have our first coming in on Monday," Reflection Living nurse administrator, manager Tracee German said. "We also have a couple coming in in the next few months."

Reflection Living was started by Susie Engels and Jennifer Maul in Wichita who took their combined 40 years of nursing to open their own senior living facility.

In 2006, Maul and Engels opened their first home in Wichita and have since opened four as of 2015.

The new facility will be the first Reflection Living in Dodge City with additional facilities in Hutchinson.

The home is fully equipped with a kitchen, living room and quiet rooms that residents can use any time they want.

German said during their recent open house, more than 120 people attended.

"We had a special dedication to the house for Robyn Rae Fralick, the wife of Kevin Fralick, who passed away suddenly 3 weeks ago," German said. "Kevin was one of our investors so we wanted to honor them by naming the house Robyn House."

Reflection Living is still hiring and German says that have staff hired that will be ready for the first arriving residents.

When fully staffed, there will be a staff ratio of 4-1 along with an in-house physician’s assistant who will be available if the residents need to see a doctor.

Reflection Living will also be using the Preston's Pharmacy long-term care integrated computer system.

"It's a double check system," German said. "It has the prescriptions and dosages information along with photo identification and an ordering system for immediate needs for meds if need be.

German added that they are an assisted living to end of life location and the rates stay the same no matter the level of care the resident requires.

"We also want everyone to know that if there are piano players, pastors or any other entertainment that wants to come in for the residents they are more than welcome," she said. "We have activities here two times a day as well."
