1 5K, mile walk/run

The Dodge City Days 5K Shootout and the Harley "Doc" Holliday 1 mile run/walk will begin at 6:30 a.m. today at 2nd Avenue and Gunsmoke Street.

After registration the 5K race will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the mile run will begin at 9 a.m.

Those wishing to participate in both races can do so.

Fees for those who have not already signed up will be $25.

2 Parade

The 57th annual Dodge City Days Western Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m.

The route will begin at the Dodge City Civic Center at Central Avenue and Morgan Street and will run south on Central Avenue to Comanche Street.

From Comanche Street, the parade will go towards 2nd Avenue and turn south on 2nd Avenue and will run down to Gunsmoke Street.

When the parade reaches Gunsmoke Street it will turn west to 3rd Avenue and then turn south on 3rd Avenue reaching Wyatt Earp Boulevard to get back on 2nd Avenue to head south.

The parade will go down south 2nd Avenue to Market Street where it will turn west on Market Street and head to its final destination at the Dodge City Roundup Arena.

3 BBQs

Beginning at 9:30 and 10 a.m. will be two barbeque contests in Wright Park.

The National Beef Smokin Saddles official barbeque contest will be first and is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society and Rocky Mountain Barbeque Association.

Chefs will be competing for more than $15,000 in cash and prizes.

The Centera Bank Backyard BBQ Contest will feature participants preparing food for judges only.

4 Kick Off Concert

Phil Vassar headlines this year’s Dodge City Days Kick Off Concert with special guest Blackhawk at the Roundup Arena.

The concert starts at 8:30 p.m. with the gates opening at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $25 and $35 and are available at dodgecityroundup.org or the Roundup office at 608 S. 14th Ave.

5 Karaoke

Doors open 7 p.m. for the Karaoke Kabaret at the Depot Theater.

Admission is $8 with a Dodge City Days lapel pin or $10 without a pin.

There will be a cash bar and hors d'oeuvres available.

6 DO's Bull Riding

Take your shot at the bull at The Doctor's Office from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. located at 113 Gunsmoke Street.

Must be 21 years or older to attend.

7 Jake Worthington live

The Central Station Street Dance series continues with The Voice season six contestant Jake Worthington and special guest Blind Dog Alley at Central Station Bar and Grill, located at 207 E. Wyatt Earp.
