Labor Day is Monday and as many already know, there will be businesses and government offices closed to observe the holiday.

All offices at City Hall will be closed as well as the public transportation busses.

The bus route will return to normal running hours on Tuesday.

Remaining open will be the Convention and Visitors Bureau which will be open through the weekend and on Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The CVB will be resuming its fall and winter hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday beginning Tuesday, and Saturdays during September from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sanitation collection normally scheduled for Monday will be serviced on Tuesday.

Polycarts are to be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. by residents.

The CREW recycle center will be open regular hours on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. but will be closed on Monday.

The recycle bins at the Civic Center and recycle center are available at all times for drop-off.

For Ford County, all government and business offices will be closed on Monday for the holiday.

The landfill will be open today from 7 to 10:30 a.m. but will be closed on Monday.

Because it is a federal holiday, all banks and the US Postal Service in Dodge City will be closed as well as the Dodge City Daily Globe.

The classifieds and obituaries received during the weekend and the holiday will be placed in the Wednesday edition of the Globe.

Due to the holiday, mercantile markets and New York Stock Exchange will not be trading.

The USD 443 schools will also be closed for the holiday along with Dodge City Community College and Sacred Heart Catholic School.
