The Dodge City Red Demons football team fell to Wichita Heights in by far their worst loss of the season, falling 63-0 Friday night.
Wichita Heights ran for over 470 yards in the victory.
Red Demons head coach Dave Foster said earlier in the week that there would be some things the team only hoped to slow down, not necessarily stop outright.
One of those things proved to be Wichita Heights’ quarterback, Kvonte Baker. Baker had runs of 60, 70 and 90 yards, breaking tackles throughout the Red Demons defense on the way to scoring more than seven touchdowns.
The final score might not have been the only thing the Red Demons lost Friday night.
In the first half of the game, sophomore quarterback Beau Foster took a hard hit. On the next drive, senior Dawson Williams entered the game at quarterback.
Z98 FM reported during the game that Foster was being evaluated for concussion-like symptoms. Foster did not return to the game.
Williams had nine carries for 66 yards, however he too was injured in the first half.
The loss moved the Red Demons to 1-2 on the season. They return home next Friday to take on Great Bend in Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m.
