Coming to its third year in Dodge City, the Kansas Professional Rodeo  Association finals will be held this weekend starting at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Dodge City Roundup Arena.

The gates will open for the 3-day competition at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

"After the events on Friday and Saturday we will have a buckle presentation at Central Station," Roundup office manager Elaine Gall said. "Then on Sunday we will have a banquet at the arena for the year end awards presentation after the competition ends."

The KPRA finals will feature all the traditional rodeo events such as bull riding, bareback riding, saddle riding, breakaway, team roping and ranch bronc riding.

"Kansas has a good group and it has grown since coming to Dodge City," Gall said. "People will be able to see top PRCA contestants and those that have been to the NFRA.

"We will have our main concessions and beer stand operating along with other vendors."

Gall also indicated that the finals will be televised on RFD TV.

"We will be able to show replays on the big screen," she said. "Normally we aren't able to show that so that will be great for people to see.'

Tickets for the finals are $10 for adults or $25 for a 3-day pass and $5 for children or $12 for a 3-day pass.

Tickets can be bought over the phone, at the gate or at the Roundup Arena office.
