It's Final Friday this Friday and to kick off the celebration, a photography exhibit will on display at the Dodge City Public Library from 4 to 6 p.m.

Entitled Muslim/American, American/Muslim the exhibit consists of 21 photographs by American photographer Robert E. Gerhardt Jr. which portray American Muslims in various scenes from their everyday lives.

According to Gerhardt, he hopes the collection will help to humanize members of the American Muslim community and mitigate the distrust and suspicion with which they are sometimes viewed by other members of American society.

The exhibit will run at the library through the middle of November.

The Carnegie Art Center will also be holding Final Friday activities from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 95-piece photo exhibit from Diego and Frida.

"The exhibit is part of a display with the Mexican Consulate," Boot Hill Museum marketing manager Laura Tawater said.

There will also be wine, beer and refreshments served.

Also from 5 to 7 p.m. will be activities and food available at Eryn's Downtown Center with the Trail of Fame Museum open with refreshments and live music along with Boot Hill Antiques and Marisco's Restaurant.

At 6:30 p.m. will be the celebration of Dia De Los Muertos that will feature Mexican food, arts, crafts, face painting and more.

"There will be a gunfight from the gunfighters from Boot Hill Museum," Tawater said. "It will be done in the street near the Bank of America building on 2nd Avenue.

"There will also be a modern muscle and classic car show."

From 5 to 7 p.m. Flowers By Irene will have a Halloween theme.

"We're going to have snacks and a signature drink based on Halloween," Flowers by Irene owner Lisa Jackson said.

West Coast Plaza will have an open house that will feature the businesses of West Coast Martial Arts, The Color Bar, Martinez Sewing, Gala's from 6 to 8 p.m.

Also from 6 to 8 p.m. will be the 2nd Ave. Art Guild event with featured artists being every member of the 2nd Ave. Art Guild.

"We are starting our holiday season this Final Friday by featuring all of our 2nd Ave. Art Guild member artists," Jennifer Nolan with the 2nd Ave. Art Guild said. "We will be progressively stocking the guild as full as possible with gifts for your holiday list."

From 7 to 9 p.m. at the Depot Theater there will be music provided by Jim Johnson and friends with treats in the dining room.

From 7 to 10 p.m. will be the Boot Hill Distillery hosting their 2nd annual Halloween costume contest with the winner receiving a $35 distillery gift card "Who ever said trick or treating was just for kids?" distillery marketing director Mark Vierthaler said.

From 9 to 11 p.m., Guymon Petro will have a Halloween theme with special prices on appetizers and drinks and will feature the music of Ask Vinny.

Boot Hill Casino and Resort will host their Live at the Longhorn concert from 8 to 11 p.m. with the music of Buckner Creek Band.

"The Dodge City Trolley will start at the library and will be taking people to each activity," Tawater said. "It will run until 11 p.m."
