The holiday excitement kicks off Saturday with the Ho Ho Ho Holiday Expo at Dodge City Civic Center.

The Expo, put on by the Dodge City Daily Globe and Pratt Tribune, features vendors, treats, music, dance and Santa Claus.

"It’s something for the whole family," said Sarah Snow, a Daily Globe sales representative who has been spearheading the expo. "I kind of took things over and ran with it."

According to Snow there are at least 10 vendors set for Saturday, with the possibility of more. Anyone with a hobby, arts and crafts business or whatever can still contact the Daily Globe at 620-225-4151 and get a spot.

"We’ll make things work if someone wants in," Snow said. "We have space and are willing to work it out."

Snow said Santa Claus will be on hand, not only to take children’s requests for gifts, but to hand out candy and take pictures.

"We’ll also have a Frozen bouncy house for children to enjoy," Snow said. "There will be performances by the Comanche Middle School Jazz Band and the Dodge City Middle School Pep Band.

"There will also be a performance by Little Feet dance group."

According to Snow there will be a drawing for a gift basket. The April Rhodes Memorial will have its own booth at the Ho Ho Ho Holiday Expo to raise money for "A Heroes Christmas" event. Gifts and goodies will be available to purchase as well as a sign up sheet for volunteers interested in getting involved. Members of the April Rhodes Memorial have put together a large gift basket, which will be raffled off, at the Holiday Expo.

Santa Claus will be played by Jeff Chambers, a teacher and head football coach at Pawnee Heights High School. Chambers is also a member of the board of directors for Puzzle Piece Ranch of Autism Southwest Kansas.

The Ho Ho Ho Holiday Expo will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Dodge City Civic Center. For more information, contact Snow or Lloyd Gum at 620-225-4151.
