Arrowhead West, Inc. has the opportunity to offer tax credits of 50 percent for charitable donations made to Arrowhead West Inc. through Dec. 31.

These credits through the Community Service Program of the Kansas Department of Commerce are for our residential project in Wichita.

The plan includes constructing a home for specialized accommodations to support those we serve. The home has become a necessity to meet specific client needs and would serve 6 individuals. The project supports our primary mission, to empower people to live meaningful and productive lives. Construction has been completed and we plan to begin serving clients in it before the end of the year.

This opportunity is a win for Arrowhead West and donors who take advantage of the tax credits on their state tax return. The tax credit would directly reduce the "bottom line" of their state income tax by reducing the amount owed in taxes.

For example, a qualified donor who gives $1,000 to the project would receive a 50 percent (or $500) tax credit against their Kansas income tax liability.

The tax savings is not only an advantage to donors, but also benefits the clients we serve.

"It is nice taxpayers have the opportunity to decide where they want their tax dollars spent," said Nadine Lampe, Development Manager at Arrowhead West.

One of the cornerstones of our success has been the support of our donors.
