Late Wednesday evening around 8:30 p.m., members of the Ford County Sheriff's Office apprehended an adult male subject after a vehicle chase ended in northern Dodge City in rural northwest Ford County.

The driver, who's name has not been released, also had two juveniles in the vehicle with him at the time of the arrest.

The driver had previously fled from the Kansas Highway Patrol according to Ford County Sheriff Bill Carr.

In a press release from Carr it states that, "The vehicle fled from deputies north on 14th Avenue, leaving the city limits and continuing into rural northwest Ford County.

"Due to mechanical failures, the fleeing vehicle stopped a short time later.

"One adult male, one juvenile male and one juvenile female were taken into custody.

"Several ounces of marijuana and some drug paraphernalia was located in the vehicle.

"Assisting agencies included the Kansas Highway Patrol and Dodge City Police Department."

According to Carr, the case is still being investigated and will be turned over to the Ford County Attorney's Office.
