The Depot Theater Company production of Moonglow run today and Sunday.

The lobby and bar open at 5:30 p.m. tonight with the theater doors opening at 6:15 p.m. and the  curtain at 7:30 p.m. unday is matinee only with the lobby and bar opening at noon, theater doors at 12:45 p.m. and the curtain at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $55 for dinner and the show or $40 for the show only.

According to director Cary Droste, Moonglow involves two Alzheimer’s patients, Maxine and Joe, who start a romantic relationship that is based entirely on their delusions.

"While in their delusional states they perceive each other to be their former spouses when they were young," Droste said. "This causes conflict with their grown children.

"The play deals with not only Maxine and Joe but also with how their children cope with them and try to understand the disease that affects them.

"It’s a romantic-drama with real life comedy thrown in.

"It’s definitely a tear jerker at times that doesn’t flinch when dealing with raw emotions."

2 Chocolate Dreams fundraiser

Court Appointed Special Advocates for children services will host their annual Chocolate Dreams fundraiser today at Boot Hill Casino and Resort Conference Center.

The fundraiser will open its doors at 6:30 p.m. with the live auction starting at 8:15 p.m.

All of the proceeds for the event go towards the CASA program, a volunteer-based service for abused and neglected children that are court appointed to assist with the needs and services of those children.

3 Young Guns

The Young Guns Timed Event Extravaganza will be showcasing up-and-coming rodeo participants at the Western State Bank Expo Center.

Contestants ranging from 3-years-old through 18 compete in events such as barrels, poles, dummy roping, team roping and calf breakaway.

The Young Guns rodeo series began last year with the series running up to February.

During the February finals, contestants will have a chance to win prize money.

This is an all-day event that will take place both today and Sunday.
